Experience
Software Engineer II — Chewy
Jan 2022 – PresentHybrid – Twin Cities, MN (Distributed Team)
- Owned the design, development, and operation of backend services powering CRM integrations and customer support workflows across a high-volume, mission-critical customer care platform.
- Created the plan and led my team’s Splunk-to-Dynatrace migration — defined the work, did most of the implementation, and brought in a contractor late to help with instrumentation; built cost-visibility dashboards and end-to-end investigation docs; retired Splunk for my team’s services as part of Chewy’s broader effort to end its $2M annual Splunk contract.
- Developed and delivered Dynatrace training for engineers, tier 2 support, and the customer care tech team, including query-cost practices under Dynatrace’s per-GB scanning model.
- Designed and built a Chrome extension that streamlines customer care troubleshooting by replacing manual Chrome DevTools-based workflows with automated capture of network logs, console output, screen recordings, and browser metadata, reducing friction in bug reporting and accelerating engineering triage.
- Designed and implemented event-driven automation using AWS SNS, SQS, and Lambda to automatically close shipped and canceled order cases, reducing agent workload and saving an estimated $480K annually.
Software Engineer — Calabrio, Inc.
Apr 2020 – Jan 2022Hybrid – Minneapolis, MN
- Built backend tooling to automate tenant provisioning and IAM configuration in a multi-tenant CRM SaaS platform.
- Developed reusable Java libraries to validate authentication and service interactions, ensuring tenant isolation and security across shared infrastructure.
- Participated in a pilot of behavior-driven specifications (Cucumber) to clarify backend logic and improve alignment between engineering and product teams.
QA Automation Engineer — Quality Bicycle Products
Jun 2018 – Mar 2020Bloomington, MN
- Maintained and extended Java libraries built on Page Object Model patterns to support stability of e-commerce and fulfillment platforms.
- Owned and configured Jenkins pipelines, integrating gate logic and failure thresholds to improve CI reliability and reduce bad deploys.
- Collaborated with backend engineers to identify integration points and improve release consistency across systems.
